Postpartum belly and loose muscles are one of the common problems of every new mom. After giving birth, the uterus contracts and comes to its original size losing the skin. It takes time to get rid from the sagging belly but with some efforts you can get back to your original shape.
Here are some ways which might help you in tightening the loose muscles after giving birth to your baby.
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is the best natural way for the new moms to lose the mummy tummy after giving birth. A lot of calories are burned in breastfeeding and it also encourages postpartum uterine contractions. This helps in minimizing the post pregnancy bleeding and helps your uterus to shrink back to its original size. In a lot of research, it is proven that breastfeeding mothers tend to lose belly fat more easily and quickly than women who don’t.
Use belly belt
Maternity belt helps you in giving support and heals your body. If you are thinking just by binding a belt you will lose weight then you are wrong, maternity belts don't do that. Belly binding helps you in tightening the abdominal separation caused due pregnancy weight. It is recommended to use a maternity belt during the first 6 weeks after the child birth.
If you have normal delivery you can start using the belt after a day or two. Whereas if having the c- section birth delivery you should wait till the stitches heels. Though it is best to consult your gynaecologist about when to start using the postpartum belly belt.
Mild exercises
Without any physical exercise it is impossible to get a flatter tummy. Every other point will only aid when you give time in stretching your body. Mild exercise is recommended after the delivery to tighten the saggy skin and reshape your body. Walking and kegels are best exercises to start after the pregnancy. Always consult with your doctor before starting any type of exercises after the delivery of baby.
Nutritious diet
Healthy food is always recommended for a healthy body. If you are breastfeeding then you must need nutrition diet, proteins rich diet is helpful in increasing the breastmilk. Eggs, pulses, sprouts, soya are some of the rich source of proteins to consume post-pregnancy.
Take lots of green vegetables and foods rich in Vitamin A, vitamin C, Biotin, Vitamin E as this will help in skin tightening and promote elasticity.
Stay hydrated
Drinking lots of fluids helps in promoting the elasticity of loose skin. Take seasonal fruit juices, coconut water, soups and other healthy drinks to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day. Drinking water also helps you in good supply of breastmilk.
Massage your tummy
Massaging your tummy in early weeks of postpartum is super beneficial to get rid of loose muscles. Exfoliation is also necessary therefore use a shower scrub or loofah to scrub your belly while taking shower. Then massage it with some oil after taking a bath. You can use coconut oil or castor oil mix with olive oil.
Hope these ways will help you in shaping your body after pregnancy. Remember do not punish yourself with vigorous exercise, dieting, or with over belly binding. Understand your body and do as much as you could, don’t overdo anything, this can worsen the condition. Do not underestimate yourself that you're not looking nice.
